They coordinate the implementation of an integrated health, safety and environmental management system, defining effective indicators, organizing audits and eventually participating in accident investigation and reporting. They promote an integrated approach to sustainability and occupational health within business organisations, liaising with corporate and line managers and training employees. They are responsible for drafting technical documentation related to the compliance with health and safety and environmental legislation.
